The Contribution of Smart Technologies To Improve The Level of Urban Waste Service: A Case Study

The paper presents a proposed system for waste management in urban areas. We often see that the rubbish bins or dustbins placed in public places in cities are overflowing due to the daily increase in waste. It creates unhealthy conditions for people and bad smells around the surroundings, leading to the spread of deadly diseases and human diseases. We plan to design a "Smart Waste Management System Using IoT" to avoid such a situation. This proposed system has many garbage bins located around the city or in these garbage bins. These garbage bins have a built-in low-cost device, ultrasonic sensors, which help track the garbage bins' level. Each rubbish bin in the city will be provided with a unique identifier so that it is easy to identify which rubbish bin is full. When the level reaches the maximum, the device will send the level with the unique identifier provided. The concerned authorities can access these details from their place with the help of the internet, and immediate action can be taken to clean up the rubbish bins
